I went to Indexing options and found that J: was offered as an indexable drive. But it turns out the error message was misleading. What!! It must be possible to add a removable device to a Library. "This folder cannot be included because it is on a removable device." When I tried to add it to a Library, it gave me an error message: Just as a sanity check I inserted a thumb drive, which mapped itself to J. So, I went to Indexing Options, but it doesn't offer Z: as an indexable drive. "This folder cannot be included because it is on a share that is not indexed."Ĭlicking on the "How can this folder be indexed?" link takes me to "Libraries: frequently asked questions", which doesn't have the answer! I took your advice and it hasn't worked :-(įirstly I mapped the network folder to a drive letter (Z:). I was able to add networked MP3s in this fashion to the Music library Try mapping the network share to a drive letter.
